Dadasaheb Phalke Award Winner Complete list (1969-2022)
No:1. Superstar Rajinikanth has been conferred with
the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2021.
No:2. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar announced the 1
April 2021.
No:3. Rajinikanth made his debut in 1975 with K
Balachander's Apoorva Ragangal and has completed over 45 years in Kollywood.
No:4. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest
honour in cinema, presented by the Directorate of Film Festivals for the
recipient's contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema.
No:5. The award, named after Dhundiraj Govind Phalke,
who is revered as the father of Indian cinema, was instituted in 1969.
No:6. The recipient receives a Swarna Kamal (Golden
Lotus) medallion, a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.
No:7. Stalwarts like Satyajit Ray, Nagi Reddy, Raj
Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Dilip Kumar, Sivaji Ganesan,
Asha Bhosle are some of the recipients of this award.
No:8. The last person to receive the award was Amitabh
Bachchan in 2018. For the last three years, there had been no nominee.
